Georgia Mae (Douglas) Hill

Georgia Mae (Douglas) Hill born October 17, 1932 to the late Bennie Douglas and Mae Ruth Douglas. Georgia was married to the late Willie James Hill. In that union they had two children, Valerie Lynn Hill and Vanessa Elaine Hill.

Georgia was a faith member of Mt. Carmel Community Baptist Church for all of her life. She worn many hats and just to mention a few includes the food pantry, Deaconess, Nurse and Usher. Georgia was a true servant, willing to serve where ever she was needed. Georgia worked at The Ohio State University for 32 years as a Salad Supervisor and she retired in February of 1992.

On September 2, 2021 the Lord called his faithful servant to rest. She was surrounded by family and friends. Georgia is preceded in death by her parents, Bennie and Mae Ruth Douglas; daughter, Valerie L. Hill; brothers, Willie, James and Paul Douglas; sisters, Dorothy Moore and Eleanor Douglas. Georgia is survived by her loving daughter, Evangelist Vanessa E. Glass; sister, Colleen Lockhart; brother, Joe Douglas; grandchildren, James F. Glass Jr., January S. Hill, Joshlin C.E. Hill, Jasmine N. Hill; great grandsons, Gregory A.S. Hill and Jamir Glass; great granddaughters, JaTasiah Glass, Janessa Glass, Janeya Glass, nieces, nephews and several other family members and friends.

Visitation will be held Friday, September 10, 2021 from 11am-Noon at Schoedinger East, 5360 E. Livingston Avenue, Columbus, Ohio with funeral service immediately following at noon.
