I love you and I miss you so much every day :)

to the Renner family,

i am so sorry for your loss. he was a great man, from what i knew and met of him. i grew up with Briana, Kayla, Tricia and Sara and used to go over with Bri alot and he was always nice to me. My prayers are with your family. God Bless you all.

Tom and I remember Jerry and his good friend, Joe Neff, standing outside the church door on Sunday telling their "fish stories."  Jerry was always helpful, always making something for the church (wood crosses, shelves, you name it, Jerry made it) and was a wonderful man. He will surely be missed by all. He is in Heaven now and at peace. Blessings to the Renner family.

Sorry to hear about Gerry. Just wanted to share a memory of us growing up on the Dyer Farm in Grove City, Gerry had to stay away from the poison ivy on the farm because when he came into contact with it, he broke out really bad. Living on a farm wasnt an easy task to stay away from poison ivy. Ray Dyer

I remember visiting the Renner home during my junior high and high school years, as I was friends with daughter Jeri.  Both Mr. and Mrs. Renner always made me feel welcome, and their home was filled with warmth and laughter.  Jeri and I were surprised to discover that we are related.  Jerry's father Martin and my grandma Frances were brother and sister..................it's a small world.  So sorry for your loss.

Where to begin about a man that I only have known for a short time, but has taught me more than I could ever imagine. I remember one of the first times I have had the pleasure of sitting around with him. He pointed up at the wall and started asking me if I knew what each tool was and what it did. I was absolutely clueless on what anything was, but he made sure to explain each one, and quiz me on them from time to time. For some reason we always started on the "Hog Scrapper". I looked forward to every visit to Renner house because I knew he was going to teach me something new. He was a huge influence on me and wish I could of had more time to learn more. He meant a lot to me and I have the greatest respect for him. When people asked him "You having a good day?", he would always respond with "They are always good!" This taught me to look at each day as positive as possible no matter the situation. I looked up to this man as my own grandfather and loved him like one. 


Mrs. Renner - Thank you for allowing me to be a part of this family and come over and learn from him. He was a major influence on my life and one of the reasons I fell in love with this family. He is one of the strongest men I have ever met and he will be missed.


Sir, thank you for everything you have taught and have done for me. I will never forget anything you told me and I wish I could be a portion of the man you were. I will take care of your Rube-a-duke. I know there are holes in the floor of Heaven and you will be watching down on everyone. ------ Go Bucks.

Grandpa!

I love you so much. Thank you for sitting in that awful chair for me and drinking that awful medicine, even though you felt bad. You went out fighting until the end! You were so brave and so special, and the entire world has lost such an amazing special person. It was such an honor to be your granddaughter. Vinny and I will watch out for grandma for you. Thank you for building such a house full of love to grow up in. It's hard to believe you're really gone.

Gerry was a true man of God.  He was always there for Pastor Steve, my kids and me.  I still remember the first time I met him.  We were meeting to see if Steve wanted to accept the call to Concordia.  We ate at a steak house and he offered me some of his mushrooms.  Then therewas the time when Steve was gone on active duty and our rabbit died.  We went to his house and asked him to come bury it for us.  Not until months later did he tell us that the ground was frozen and he had just put dirt over it.  He had come back later when the ground was unfrozen and buried it for us.  Then of course there was Steve's death.  He was there to take my dad and the kids back and forth to the hospital.  He sat with me the day that Steve died.  Irene, he was so special to us!!  He is going to be greatly missed.  I figure that him and Steve have already gotten together and are probably fishing with Laura!!!  Thank you Irene for you and Jerry including us into all your family gatherings!! If the weather cooperates i hope to make it down for the funeral>  Right now northwest Ohio is having another winter storm!!  Please accept my family's sympathy.  I hated it when people said to me when Steve died at least he was in heaven.  I wanted to scream and tell him that was fine but I WANT HIM HERE!!  So needless to say, I won't say that!!!  Concordia is going to miss him for all he did for that church!!!  I love you Gerry!!!  You were so good to my family and me!!  Thank you for being a part of our life!!!!

I worked with Jerry at Western Electric. He was always a gentlemen and a fine Christian. We enjoyed hunting together; I called Jerry the meat man; he always came home with something. We played softball together for a few years, but hunting and fishing was where Jerry shined. He loved his family and was a very good friend. My prayers go out to Irene and the rest of the family. Go fishing with Jesus now Jerry!

I really love Gerry, and will miss him dearly, as will my whole family.  You all are a wonderful family, and we will celebrate together the Grace of God in his life, and the life he now lives with Christ... even through some tears.  Pastor Matt.

60 years to the day is when I entered your life and you would never let anyone forget that I was your favorite birthday present. I love you so very much and know how many facebook you would have if you had one. Everyone loves you so much and I told you Thursday night to stop scaring us but I didn't think this is the course of action you would take. I'm so glad that you don't have to be tired or in pain anymore. Lately the fish have been liking purple so I'll put all those purple luers you made to good use.! All your great crafts mean so much more to me now and all the time and effort you put into them couldn't be replaced for anything. I love you so much grandpa and will remember you always. I'll make our 7th birthday twice as good, as it always has been. I love you and will miss you greatly <3

People often tell me how wonderful my children are, I know that more than anything this is your influence. You have taught us about love through your generosity of time and devotion. You have taught us about bravery and sacrifice, and mostly you taught us about faith. Your family came first no matter what. You were there for every crisis and we knew things would be alright. You are the finest person I have ever met and I thank God that you are part of my family. You will be missed by everyone who knew you. I love you and miss you!

Dad, where do I begin to put into words all you meant to me. I can only say when i drove through the garage you didnt yell at me. You always supported me and loved me. I was so blessed to have you as my father. God leant you to us for 76 years and he wanted  you back. You were the salt of the earth, best husband ,father, grandfather ever ! We were blessed to be able to spend time with you, learn from you and  be a part of your life. Your strength and faith in God  was something that you lived every day.You never missed a day from work other then the day of the blizzard in 1978 and even though you drove to work to find out it was closed. If I remember correctly you were the only one there .  You fought the fight with cancer for 4 years with strength and diginity and you never complained. You said you were fine till the end. You were the best provider and caretaker of your family.I will miss you soooooo much but I'll see you in heaven and we will go fishing together again!!!! I love you !!!!
