Gerald Tackett

Gerald Tackett, 80, of Columbus, passed away on October 26, 2021. He was born on April 29, 1941, to the late Glen and Valeria (Blair) Tackett. In addition to his parents, Gerald was preceded in death by his nephew, James K. Porter; and his brother-in-law, James Porter.

Gerald was a proud member if the United States Army and served during the Vietnam War. He was an active member at Maize Road Baptist Church. He loved God and would read the bible and enjoyed playing Christian music on his guitar. In addition to church, Gerald loved to walk and hang out with his group home members who were all veterans of the military.

Gerald is survived by his sister, Frances Porter; niece, Vickie (Paul) Combs; great nieces and nephews, Jim Porter, Kandis (Jamie) Woodfolk, Nathan Combs, Clarissa (Ryan) Means, and Josiah Combs; special friends, Ruby, Royce, Chet, and Frank; and many cousins and extended family.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 2, 2021, at 12PM at the Schoedinger Worthington funeral home, 6699 North High St., Worthington OH, 43085. A visitation will be held on the same day starting at 11AM and going until the time of the service.
