Geraldine “Geri” H. Van Lent peacefully passed away on Friday, September 13, 2013 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Born October 23, 1931 in Augusta, Georgia to the late Garvin and Lolli Harrison. Geri’s vibrant career in Real Estate spanned 44 years, as it began in 1968, to retirement in 2012. Her title was Relocation Specialist, and she worked with companies that included: Donahue Reality, HER Reality and Prudential Metrix. Yet, within the Real Estate industry, she also held titles that include: President of Relocation Services, Vice President of Relocation Services and Relocation Director. During that time, Geri had the warmth, knowledge and empathy to help many of her clients through, what can be a very trying time as they move due to a corporate relocation. Her attitude was always positive, and her guidance and knowledge provided peace of mind to people who were enduring life changes that affected themselves and their families. Her greatest love was her family. She was a devoted and giving wife, mom, grandma and great-grandma. On September 13th, to her doctors amazement, her strong will kept her breathing on her own until family could be by her side to say good bye. And with her family surrounding her, she passed away. She will be greatly loved and missed by her family: her husband George; children George Van Lent III, Karen (John) Yark and Susan (Stan) Moyer; grandchildren Jay, Jennifer (Matthieu) Beaudoin, Kimberly, Michael, Meagan and Shannon; great-grandchildren Austin and Evelyn; nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her brothers Harold and Otis Harrison. Family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday at Schoedinger Worthington Chapel, 6699 N. High Street, Worthington, Ohio 43085. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at Liberty Presbyterian Church, 7080 Olentangy River Road, Delaware, Ohio 43015, where she was a member. Memorial contributions may be made to The Salvation Army, Faith Mission or to the Mid-Ohio Food Bank, in her memory. A loving cremation will follow her services.
