

He was born on December 8, 1956 to Allison L. and Lois D. Augur in Evanston, Illinois. He grew up in Wilmette and Barrington, Illinois and Cincinnati, Ohio. After graduating from Miami University with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting in 1978, he made his home in Columbus. Hal was a CPA by trade and lent his financial skills to many companies over his career, the last being Equity LLC where he was CFO.
Hal was a devoted husband and wonderful father. He enjoyed mentoring young people in career planning, starting a business, fixing computers or other technical issues. He especially loved teaching them to work on their cars. He was a committed servant of Jesus Christ, involved in different capacities at Xenos Christian Fellowship since 1987.
Hal is survived by his wife of 34 years, Ann Niday Augur; his son Luke, his wife Jess and their daughter due in March 2018; daughter Morgan and her husband Shayne Kumler; his sister Susan Niehaus and her husband Paul; his sister Cathy Augur; and by many brothers- and sisters-in-law and a host of nieces and nephews that he loved dearly. He is also survived by his constant companion, Mia, his poodle.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Dean and James.
Family will receive friends from 2-5 pm with a Celebration of Life Service to begin at 3 pm on Sunday, January 14th at Xenos Christian Fellowship, 4th Street Pavilion, 1934 N. 4th Street, Columbus, OH 43201. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Hal's name to Xenos Christian Fellowship's Humanitarian Aid Fund. Arrangements by Schoedinger Worthington Chapel.
