Harold L. Beidel Jr.

Harold L. Beidel, Jr., age 94 of Hilliard, passed away Saturday, January 18, 2025. Harold was born and raised in Columbus, son of the late Harold, Sr. and Mabel Beidel. Also preceded in death by his brother, Bill Beidel, and nieces, Tammy Herman and Jody Beidel. Harold graduated from West High School, and following, went on to work in the insurance industry with State Auto Insurance where remained for 42 dedicated years. Harold had a love and passion for boating, so following retirement, he went on to work with West Marine for 17 years. Harold was a longtime and active member and Commander for U.S. Power Squadrons and served as Commadore of the Gravel Bar Yacht Club in Lake Erie. In addition to boating, Harold also enjoyed fishing and hunting. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 74 years, Martha Beidel; daughter, Terrie (Tex) Spohn; sister-in-law, Bernice Beidel and her family; niece, Cindy Tanner; special friends, Donna Krivak and Mary Snyder; faithful companion and walking buddy, GiGi; and many other dear friends and extended family members. Harold’s family would like to thank all their loving neighbors and friends for the wonderful support and love they showed Harold and his family. Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Saturday, January 25, 2025 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST, 1740 Zollinger Rd., where family will receive friends at a reception following service until 6 P.M.
