

Harold I. Coon, age 89, passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2018. He was born in Brocton, IL on November 24, 1928 to the late Howard and Myrle (Young) Coon. Harold's passion for life, service to his community and love of family were evident in the way he lived his life. His work ethic was second to none. He retired from Lennox Industries as a territory sales manager after 40 years of service. He was a 60 year member of Westgate Lodge 623 FandAM, Scottish Rite, Aladdin Shrine and their hospitality unit, Jesters, El Hajj, The Order of the Eastern Star Triangle Chapter Past Patron, Junior Achievement, Upper Arlington Civic Association and Athletic Association. After retirement, he worked at Ohio Auto Auction and UA Ad Specialties. He coached his sons' football, baseball and basketball teams when they were growing up, and he was an all-around handyman. Harold was a life-long St. Louis Cardinal fan as well as the Fighting Illini. He enjoyed traveling and storytelling. In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his wife, Annalou; wife, Faith Ann; siblings, Charles Coon, Florence (Robert) Marland, Martha (George) Tokarchick, Bob Coon, and Fred Coon; best friend, Wilbur "Jigs" Buell as well as many other dear friends. He is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Dolores (Chambers) Coon; daughter, Sandra (Bruce) Frost; sons, Gary (Robin) Coon and Jeffrey (Toni) Coon; grandchildren, Cherry Gatewood, Jesse (Yulieth) Presley, Chelsey (David) Stevens, Ray Getz, Stacey Cornute, Andy (Ashley) Coon, Lauren Coon and Jared (Tracie) Scarborough; step-children, Jae Chambers and Tracey Chambers; great-grandchildren, Isiah, Luke, Jaden, Devin, Brooklyn, Londyn, Tristan, Tyler, Matthew, Emma and Jake; brother, Paul (Lois) Coon; sisters, Virginia (Don) Greger and Barb (Stu) Clark; sisters-in-law, Joyce and Marilyn Coon; loyal canine companion, Chedda. Family will receive friends 6-8 pm Friday at Schoedinger East Chapel, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., where the funeral service will be held 10 am Saturday, April 21, 2018. Pastor Nate Manzo, officiating.
