

Harold “Dave” Hoover, age 86, longtime resident of Commercial Point, passed away on Monday, August 15, 2011. He was born in Pickaway County on April 28, 1925 to the late David F. and Lena (Gochenour) Hoover. Harold was a veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II and retired from General Motors after 31 years of service. He was also a proud member of UAW Local #969. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Terrah David Hoover; and siblings, Richard F. Hoover and Mary Jean Holbein. Survivors include his daughters, Brenda (Jeff) Holmes and Jeanne (Ron) Quick; grandchildren, Ryan and Christopher Downing, and PFC Aaron and Kyle Quick; companion of 21 years, Mae Hannah; two nephews; and two nieces. Harold was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed traveling. He will be remembered for always having a smile on his face!
