Harold "Hal" C. Houghton

Harold “Hal” C. Houghton, age 79, of Upper Arlington, passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2011. He was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on February 6, 1932. He was a 1950 graduate of Upper Arlington High School and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Hal was the founder of Wilderness Trace Inc. that he owned and operated for 25 years. He was a member of the Central Ohio Boy Scouts Troop #380 and the International Wolf Center. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Watts Houghton; father, Harold C. Houghton, Sr. and mother, Irene (Tronic) Chinn. He is survived by his children, Robert (Claire) Houghton, Laura (David) James, Karen (Curtis) Weinrich, and David Houghton; grandchildren, Lucas Houghton, Derek Weinrich, Elizabeth James, Zachary Weinrich, and Kathryn Weinrich; and sister, Jean Green. Hal was an avid outdoorsman. He will be greatly missed by his entire family. Friends may call on Friday, November 25, 2011 from 6:00PM-8:00PM at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road, Columbus, Ohio where funeral service will be held Saturday, November 26, 2011 at 10:00AM with visitation one hour prior. Rev. John Girard officiating. Interment will follow at Green Lawn Cemetery, Columbus, Ohio.
