

Harold “Hal” C. Houghton, age 79, of Upper Arlington, passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2011. He was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on February 6, 1932. He was a 1950 graduate of Upper Arlington High School and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Hal was the founder of Wilderness Trace Inc. that he owned and operated for 25 years. He was a member of the Central Ohio Boy Scouts Troop #380 and the International Wolf Center. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Watts Houghton; father, Harold C. Houghton, Sr. and mother, Irene (Tronic) Chinn. He is survived by his children, Robert (Claire) Houghton, Laura (David) James, Karen (Curtis) Weinrich, and David Houghton; grandchildren, Lucas Houghton, Derek Weinrich, Elizabeth James, Zachary Weinrich, and Kathryn Weinrich; and sister, Jean Green. Hal was an avid outdoorsman. He will be greatly missed by his entire family. Friends may call on Friday, November 25, 2011 from 6:00PM-8:00PM at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road, Columbus, Ohio where funeral service will be held Saturday, November 26, 2011 at 10:00AM with visitation one hour prior.
