

Harold Wirtz, age 86, of Dublin, OH, entered into rest Wednesday, January 1, 2014. He was born September 22, 1927 in Columbus to the late Otto and Mary Wirtz. He grew up in German Village and was a 1945 graduate of South H.S. where he was the quarterback on the football team.
Harold proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII as an Expert Marksman and drove the fire truck at Parris Island. Harold felt that serving in the Marines was a turning point in his life.
Harold and Doloris raised their family in Findlay, OH, later moving to Columbus as he gained employment as the President of All-Tell. While living in Findlay, they were members of First Lutheran Church.
In younger years, he enjoyed taking his family on camping trips to Burt Lake, MI and Lake Erie. He also loved hunting, football (especially Michigan), and golf. In his retirement, Harold worked at Safari Golf Club.
Harold was kind, straight-laced, and cared so much for his family, always putting them first. He was an over-all great guy and will be dearly missed by his family.
In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his brothers, Russell and Donald Wirtz. Harold will be missed by his loving wife of 64 years, Doloris; sons, Dale (Jayne) Wirtz and Karl (Cindy) Wirtz; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Family will receive friends Saturday, January 4, 2014 from 3 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 4 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 N. High St., Worthington (Just south of I-270).
