

Harry Winters, 92, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed away on February 15, 2018 at the Jean Waddle Care Center, Hospice of Lake Cumberland. Born in Deering, OH, October 3, 1925, he was the son of the late Otto and Marie Sherman Winters. He was a member and Sunday school teacher for Ferguson Methodist Church. Harry served the in the United States Army during WWII. In 1945 he was an active part of the European Theatre and Germany Campaign. He was a recipient of the Bronze Battle Star, European African Middle Eastern Ribbon, and Good Conduct Medal. He earned a teaching degree, a Bachelor of Arts in education from Capital University in Columbus, a Master's Degree in psychology from Xavier University, and a degree from the Southern College of Watchmaking. An avid golfer, he was a proud recipient of the "Hole in One" trophy in Gahanna, OH. Harry was a teacher and principal at Jefferson Elementary in Gahanna. He was known throughout the community in Somerset as the "clock and watch repairman". He is survived by his four children; Rob (Jan) Dreiss, Joanne (Steve) Liu, Jim (Rose) Dreiss, and Kirk Winters; his grandchildren, Doni and Dylan Winters, Chris and Brian Liu, and Matt, Mike, and Pam Dreiss; and his beloved dog, Daisey Bell. A funeral service will be held in Somerset on Monday, February 19, 2018 at 7:00 PM at the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Monday, February 19, 2018 at the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home, and in Columbus at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST, Gahanna, OH on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 from 5-7 PM, and on Thursday, February 22, 2018 from 5 until time of a funeral service at 7 PM. A committal service will be at 11 AM Friday, February 23, 2018 at Mifflin Cemetery, Gahanna, OH. Harry's family asks that you honor him as you wish, with flowers or donations to Ferguson Methodist Church.
