Helen Jo Armstrong

Helen Jo Reitz (Dale) Armstrong, 75 of Columbus Ohio, was surrounded by family as she passed away on January 3, 2011. Some knew Helen as “Jody”, some knew her as “Mom”, and many knew her as “Grandma”, but whatever the relationship, she profoundly touched the hearts of all who knew and loved her. There was never a child, or dog, that wasn’t immediately taken by her smile, and generosity. In her unique ways, she taught us to try anything at least once; always play to win; to give is better than to receive; and most of all, to always believe in ourselves. Helen was born in Huntington, West Virginia to Eloise & Monte Reitz, October 4, 1935, Graduate of North High School, Class of 1953. Preceded in death by her parents, husbands Ralph G. Dale, Jr. and Joseph F. Armstrong. Survived by her brother Charles Berkley Reitz, sons Jim (Denise) Dale, Scott (Laurie) Dale, Andy (Sara) Dale, daughter Sally Jo Dale, step-daughter Beth Armstrong (Dr. Nick Baird), step-sons Fred (Mary Jo) Armstrong, Casey (Carolyn) Armstrong, Carl Armstrong; grandchildren Ashley Rae Dale, Aaron Scott Dale, Austin Joseph Dale, Colin Armstrong, Jake Armstrong, Jaycie Armstrong, Haley Armstrong, Joshua Poznanski, Matthew Poznanski, and, Abbey Poznanski; sister-in-law, Jill (Armstrong) MacLardy; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Friday, January 7, 2011 from 3 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 5 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL located at 6699 North High Street, Worthington, Ohio 43085 (Just South of I-270), Monsignor Kenneth Grimes officiating.
