Helen L. Chapman

Helen L. Chapman, age 93, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, December 23, 2012. She was born in Amanda, Ohio on April 30, 1919. She was preceded in death by her husband of 24 years, Henry Chapman; son, Bernard Chapman; parents, Rose Aldenderfer and Lee Young; three sisters; and two brothers. She leaves behind son, Gerald (Beverly) Chapman; daughter, Linda (John) Slane; seven grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; sister, Betty Helser; and many other relatives and friends. In high school Helen participated in many sports. She was a longtime member of Glenwood United Methodist Church where she was song leader of the Fellowship Class; retired from NAPA; and was a member of McDowell Senior Center where she enjoyed the dance program. Friends may call on Thursday, December 27, 2012 from 2:00PM-4:00PM and 6:00PM-8:00PM at the SCHOEDINGER HILLTOP CHAPEL, 3030 W. Broad St. Columbus, Ohio. Funeral service will be held on Friday, December 28, 2012 at 10:00AM at Glenwood United Methodist Church, 2833 Valleyview Dr. Columbus, Ohio. Pastor Sharon Beattie officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery, Galloway, Ohio.
