Helen Richards

Helen Rakas Richards, age 85, entered Heaven's gates on July 27, 2014 departing from Arbor's West, West Jefferson, OH. She was greeted by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and reunited with her husband of 60 years, Brady Ray Richards, whom she had missed greatly since July 12, 2012. She was a 1946 honor graduate of Midland High School, Midland, PA. Helen was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, Waynesburg, PA. Recently, she attended Memorial Baptist Church, Columbus, OH and was a member of Bible Study Fellowship. She enjoyed hymn singing, reading and baking. A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2014 from 10:00 - 11:00 am followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am at the Mausoleum Chapel in Beaver Cemetery, Beaver, PA. Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Brad (Cheryl) Richards of Ewa Beach, Hawaii; daughter and son-in-law, Millie (Don) Zapsic of Columbus, OH; 8 grandchildren, Tricia (Jay) Smith, Andrea (Ian) Ghinga, Ryan (Beth) Zapsic, Brandon (Ashlyn) Richards, Kay (Chris) Klaiber, Matthew (Liz) Richards, Carrie (Aaron) Hammack, and Rudy (Emily) Frecas; 5 great grandchildren, Grant, Kyla and Raela Zapsic, Hailey Ghinga and Dylan Smith; and many nieces and nephews. Born in Midland, PA on August 10, 1928 she was the youngest daughter of the late Eli Rakas and Mildred Marich Rakas. She is preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph Rakas and George Rakas and eight sisters, Eva Kevich, Lillian Radella, Dorothy Turley, Mary Disdore, Stella Rakas, Catherine Ordich, Pearl Mahan and Mildred Fisher.
