

Hildegard Kuhn Hixon, age 75, passed away on Sunday, June 13, 2010. She was born in Mecklenburg, Germany. She grew up during the War and had many stories to share. She married Raymond Hoover Hixon, US Army, on October 3, 1958. He preceded her in death in 1980. They were stationed in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Oklahoma, and settled in Gahanna. Together, they raised 5 sons, Jurgen (Elizabeth) Hixon of Nashport, Jim Hixon of Columbus, Ron Hixon of Coshocton, Dale Hixon of Gahanna, and David Hixon, who also preceded her in death in 1985. Hilda lived in Gahanna until 2005 when she lived with Jurgen and Elizabeth until 2009. She was residing at Emeritus at North Hills in Zanesville when she passed away. She enjoyed her grandchildren, Laura of Idaho, Zak of Newark, Lacey (Brandon) Seymour of Idaho, and Dusty of Dresden. She has one great granddaughter, Secylia Evalynn, 14 months. Hilda loved to fish and was talented in crafts of all kinds. She had several projects going at the same time, yet never failed to remember a birthday or be there in a time of trouble of those she loved. She drew everyone to her table with her German cooking, and loved her flower gardens. She was generous and devoted to family life. Family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 17, 2010, at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 E. Johnstown Road, Gahanna.
