Hong-Chei Chen

Born in Taipei, Taiwan on September 18, 1957 to the late Hsien-Lin Chen and Lee-Yung Hwang, he came to Columbus, Ohio in 1982 to study Chemistry at The Ohio State University where he received his PhD in 1988. He continued post doctorate study at OSU and then pursued his Master's degree in Computer Science at the University of Dayton. He spent his career in engineering at Lucent Technologies, now known as Nokia.

He enjoyed badminton and bridge, but especially karaoke, singing at a variety of places throughout Columbus where most people recognized him as 'Zee'.

He is survived by his children Tiffany, Eric and Natalie; their mother Lin Chiu; brother Rex Chen and sister Hung-Ching Chen. In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by brother Hung-Teh Chen.

Visitation will be held Sunday, April 23, 2017 from 1-3PM at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna where a funeral service will be held at 3PM.
