

Hoover Jones, age 81 saw his first sunrise on November 5, 1928 in Callands, VA. The sun set on his long life Sunday, July 18, 2010 at his home in Columbus. After spending time in the Army he moved to Columbus to begin his career in construction which included the building of the Anheuser Busch plant. He was later employed there, working his way up to Production Supervisor. After his retirement, he enjoyed driving a truck for Jones Fuel. Those close to him will certainly miss his great sense of humor. His children will always be grateful for his love of family and the legacy of a great work ethic. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Sis Jones; brother, Murphy; sisters, Rebecca, Mable and Roberta. He is survived by his brother, Millard; sister Ruby; children, Kathy (Darrell) Tucker, Karla (Jerry) Watson, Kina Jones, Allen (Marla) Jones and Alleen Jones; grandchildren, Corey (Julia), Ruth (Jeff), C.J., Vanessa, Morgan, Amanda, Cieko and Ciara; a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call from 10:00AM until 1:00PM, Saturday, July 24, 2010, with the family receiving friends starting at 12:00PM at the SCHOEDINGER HILLTOP CHAPEL, 3030 W.
