Howard Alden Thompson

Howard was born to the late Howard and Muriel (Surfass) Thompson on September 25, 1925. He served in the United States Merchant Marines during WWII, later worked in the pharmaceutical industry and enjoyed golfing and travelling.

In addition to his parents, Howard was preceded in death by his wife Gertrude (Langdon) Thompson in 2006; they had been married 60 years, and his son David Thompson who passed in 2009. He is survived by son Greg (Carol) Thompson; daughter-in-law Alice (Jon) Thompson Self; grandchildren Heather (Robbie) Rush, Timothy (Heidi) Thompson, Chris Thompson, Jodi (Bruce) Davy, Matthew (Ronae) Thompson and Megan (Bobby) Brandenstein; great grandchildren Rodney, Jake, Sam, Luke, Madelyn, Abby, Drew, Sara, Katie, Johhny, Faustina, Avila, Kolbe, Roman, Dominic and Poppy.

The family would like to thank Heartland Hospice and The Village at Westerville for the kind and loving care they provided Howard. Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice in Howard’s memory at 6500 Busch Blvd #210, Columbus, OH 43229.

Visitation will be held at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna on Sunday, July 24, 2016 from 3:30 until 4PM at which time a memorial service will take place with Father James Ogurchock officiating.
