Hugh M. Smith

Hugh M. Smith Jr., age 92, formerly of Columbus and of Lancaster, died Friday, December 11, 2020 in Lancaster, Ohio. He was born in Pickaway County, Ohio on October 10, 1928, son of the late Hugh M. Sr. and Georgia Pauline (McDonald) Smith. Hugh is survived by his granddaughter Kelly Haslett- Hess and her husband Rick Hess; great grandchildren, Kaitlin and Christopher Largan; son-in-law, Garry Marriott; other relatives and many friends. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Tedrick Smith and two daughters, Deborah Smith and Karen Marriott. Veteran U.S. Army serving during the Korean War. Hugh was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan and followed the Cleveland Indians and Browns. He loved to watch old Western movies, eat chocolate ice cream and cashews.
