Ilene Blecher Stanley

Ilene (Belcher) Stanley, age 84, passed away on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at Columbus Colony Elder Care. Ilene was born May 22, 1928 in Columbus, Ohio to the late George W. and Velma M. (Johnston) Belcher. She graduated from Linden McKinley High School. She worked at Ranco in Columbus. She had moved to Florida and lived there for 30 years and worked at the Cash and Carry Grocery Store. Ilene has been back in Columbus for the last 10 years. She attended church and has had a strong faith background where she belonged to Bible study groups and enjoyed watching Sunday Religious programming. Ilene enjoyed her days where she was able to spend time with her nieces and sister-in-law going out to dinner at Bob Evans and the MCL. Preceded in death by her husband, Archie C. “Stan” Stanley; brothers, George W. (Eunice) Belcher Jr., Charles and Howard Belcher. Survived by her sons, Ronald L. (Jane) Jacobs and Timothy W. (Debbie) Peters; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, Van Allen (Jackie) Belcher Sr.; sisters-in-law, Betty and Ruth Belcher; many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held 6-8 pm on Wednesday at Schoedinger North Chapel, 5554 Karl Road, Columbus, OH 43229 where funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, July 19, 2012.
