Ireta Ann Hollingsead

Ireta Ann Hollingsead, age 88, of Columbus, formerly of Upper Arlington, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2025. Born March 14, 1937, in Paulding County, Ohio, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Hollingsead; parents, Everett and Fern (Hawver) Bainbridge; and sisters, Lela Ewing, Letha Adang, and Bonnie Riecken.

She is survived by her sons, James (Mary) Brown and Brent (Sarah) Hollingsead, as well as her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ireta was a former employee of Battelle Memorial Institute and The American Society of Criminology, and an active member of the COSI Women’s Association and Riverside Hospital Board 9.

Remembered for her warmth, humor, love of bridge, Ohio State sports, and her joyful holiday spirit, she filled every season with laughter and care.

A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, October 24, 2025, at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST, 1740 Zollinger Road, Columbus, with a Celebration of Life to follow from 5:00–7:00 p.m. Contributions may be made to the Memory care unit at First Community Village and hospice in her memory.
