Italia Fregonas

Italia (DelCol) Fregonas, age 90 of Columbus, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2014. She was born in Fontanafredda, Italy on April 20, 1923 to the late Antonio and Santa DelCol. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was an excellent cook, famous for her crostoli's. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Antonio; brother, Giorgio (Alice) DelCol; sister, Giorgina DelCol and brothers-in-law, Pete (Mary) and Florindo Fregonas. She is survived by her daughter, Tina (Tony) Quitar; son, Ugo (Cathy) Fregonas; grandchildren, Loredana Runyon; Angela and Anthony Quitar, Dineen and Dominic Fregonas; great grandchildren, Tyler and Grace Runyon; siblings, Elena, Louisa (Ugo) DelBen, Marietti (Pete) Tonon, and Lino of Italy; sisters-in-law, Ada (John) Pusateri and Mary T. Fregonas; and many extended family members in Columbus, Ohio and Fontanafredda, Italy. Friends may call on Sunday, January 5, 2014 from 2:00PM-5:00PM at the SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Road, Columbus, Ohio. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, January 6, 2014 at 10:00AM at St. Matthias Catholic Church, 1582 Ferris Road, Columbus, Ohio 43224. Fr. Thomas Petry, celebrant. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Lewis Center, Ohio. In lieu of flowers donations in Italia's memory may be made to St. Matthias Catholic Church.
