

A funeral service for Jack H. Davis of Thornville will be held Tuesday October 30, 2012 at 10:30 AM at the Criss-Schoedinger Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Beyer officiating. Interment will be in Fairmount Cemetery.
Jack was born in Jacksontown, Ohio on September 3, 1941 to the late Willard H. and Dorothy (King) Davis. He died peacefully Wednesday October 24, 2012 in Little Rock Arkansas with the comfort of his family by his side. He was 71.
He is preceded in death by his sister Susan Davis, and brothers in law Paul (Butch) Jones and Thomas Gilligan.
Jack is survived by his wife Katherine, whom he married on November 25, 1978; daughters Kelli (Matthew) Bachman, Kerry (Jarrod) Arnholt, and son Matthew (Jennifer) Davis, grandchildren Harrison Jack and Kylah May Arnholt, siblings Theresa Gilligan, Ed (Sherry) Davis, Carole (Dick) Campbell, Bonnie Davis, Pamela Hall, Mary (Wayne) Doyle, and numerous other family members, including nieces, nephews, cousins and his pet dog Ivan.
Jack was a graduate of the Lakewood High School class of ’60, and was a member of the State Championship basketball team. He served his country in the US Army, and was a lifelong resident of Licking County as he worked for Houston Heating and Plumbing for over 20 years. He was a member of the Jacksontown UM Church, a trustee of the Fairmount Cemetery, and treasurer of the Lakewood Alumni Association. He loved to hunt, collect Native American Art, attend antique auctions; a collector and admirer of classic Chevrolets, as he had a ’62 Chevy convertible, making Tiffany lamps, working in his vineyard and making wine.
Jack had a loving, warm personality that he used to charm everyone that he came in contact with. He loved to entertain friends and family in the most amusing ways. Family was very important to him and he was a wonderful husband, father grandfather, brother and friend who will be missed by all.
