

Jack Edison, age 70 of Gahanna, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, November 15, 2014. Jack was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee, son of the late Jack and Mattie Edison. Also preceded in death by son, Bert Wright III and brother, Kenneth Edison. Following high school in 1961, Jack proudly enlisted in the U.S. Army serving 3 tours in Vietnam as an Army Ranger and retired in 1984 where he earned the rank of Command Sergeant Major. Following his military career, Jack worked for many years for Bill Swad Chevrolet. Jack was a very military minded, loving and a caring man who always referred to everyone as “my friend”. He loved everyone and was always there to help a friend in need. Jack was a longtime member of Christian Center Church where he served as a Deacon for more than 30 years. He was also a member of the Gahanna VFW. Jack was an honorable man who loved nothing more than spending time with all of his grandbabies and puppies, BJ, Max, Lenny and Louie. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 23 years, Barbie Edison; children, Diana (Mark) McKnight, Bonnie Edison, Melissa McKinnon, Shawn Day, Faith (Adam) Bowen, and Anthony (Carol) Pike; grandchildren, Bryan, Sarah, Jenna, Kayla, Ian, Austin, Amanda, Andrew, Bryce, Aiden, Ashleigh, Reis, Mason, Bentley, Maddox, and Sydney; great grandson, Michael; and many other extended family members and dear friends. Family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd. and from 11am- 1 pm Thursday, November 20, 2014 at Christian Center Church, 298 S. Rocky Fork Dr., where a funeral service will begin at 1 pm Thursday.
