My deepest sympathy goes out to the entire Flood family and all of the fantastic friends and acquaintances who had the honor of knowing Jack.  As someone who also tragically lost a little brother, I can empathize with the pain of losing someone at such a young age. My heart goes out to you all as you embark on a journey of grief and healing. 

I wanted to share a quick story and my family's favorite memory of Jack. After a high school dance, some of the boys were wrestling in our basement, and someone split our wooden bed frame that was passed down through generations completely in half. At the time, no one would admit what happened, but unsurprisingly, Jack showed up at my dad's house the very next day with a tool kit and helped my father rebuild the frame. To this day, we are unsure if  Jack was even the person who broke the frame. 

This is just one small example of the quality person Jack was. 

Thank you, Jack, for embodying the sort of honesty, humor, and light that we all need more of.  May you be at peace, friend.

Jack had the biggest heart in the world. He loved and cared about everyone… and I mean everyone. I could call him at 3 am and he would be right there for me. I will never forget his laugh or his jokes. I’ll never forget how happy he made me or anyone. He was a one of a kind soul and the world lost such an incredible person. 

I will always tell people how I’m only good at darts because I had to be better than you at something. You will always hold a special place in my heart.

Jack, I often wondered what you were up to after all these years. This is not the update I wanted, what anyone wanted. Fifth grade was a hard year for me and you treated me with much more kindness and grace than even adults at the time did. We were kids and your spirit was wise beyond your years. All the jokes and and smiles were exactly what made that year so memorable for me, you made it memorable. Thank you Jack for helping me during a rough, rough school year. We weren't too close after that, but I hope you knew how much of an impression you made on those around you.

Jack was a wonderful person and friend. I will always cherish our memories growing up together. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Sending love and prayers to the Flood’s.

What I think I remember the most is how he was able to make people feel important just by the nature of his personality. He had a way of commanding attention for better or for worse haha and it always felt special to be in on the joke, which is a unique trait that not a lot of people possess. Rest easy Jack. I did not know Jack but do know how much love and devotion his father had for his son. Unfortunately, Jack's passing rips a hole in the hearts of all who knew him. While time will dim the hurt that is felt by his friends and family, we have faith that he is now in a better and safer place for his soul. God take good care of this young man when he arrives to join you in heaven,
