Jack R. Steinhausser, 81, of Gahanna, Ohio passed away unexpectedly on February 21, 2021. Jack was born May 18, 1939 in Columbus, Ohio, one of fourteen children born to the late Herbert and Zelda (Peters) Steinhauser. He was also preceded in death by his wife Phyllis (Highfield) Steinhausser who died in 2017. Jack was a U.S. Army Veteran and an active member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Tri-Community Post 4719 in Gahanna. He served as the captain of the VFW Honor Guard where he paid tribute and brought comfort to many veterans and their families. He retired as General Manager of Wolfe and Sons Heating and Cooling. Jack is survived by his sons, JR and Sam as well as grandchildren Sara and Justin. A graveside service for both Jack and Phyllis will be held at 11am Saturday, April 10, 2021 at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the VFW in his memory. Services entrusted to Schoedinger Northeast in Gahanna.
