James C. “Buster” Burgess, 90, of Circleville, passed away Sunday, July 6, 2014 at Brown Memorial Home. He was born November 24, 1923 in Powellton, West Virginia, the son of William and Maggie Mae (Taylor) Burgess. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Joe Burgess; and other siblings and family members.
Buster served in the Army and was a veteran of WWII and the Korean War. He retired from the Fisher-Body/GM Plant in Cleveland, then moved to Circleville where he has resided for the last 32 years.
Buster is survived by his sister, Willie Casto of Gallagher, WV; nephew, Robert P. Howell of Charleston, WV; numerous other nieces and nephews; and special friends, Charlotte Arbogast and Jim Lowery of Circleville.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger Funeral Home with Chaplain Jim Ferrell officiating. Burial will be in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9:30 A.M. until the time of service on Wednesday.
