James R. Chilcote

Jim was born on May 8, 1926 in Columbus, OH to Stanley and Dorothy (Frederick). He worked for Prudential Insurance for 25 years. On June 19, 1948, he married Elizabeth M. (Hanger). They raised one daughter Amy B. (Dailey) and two sons, Gary J. and Larry R.

Jim had a passion for wood working. He also loved to fish, golf, and bowl. He was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan and spent 60 years volunteering as an usher at OSU Stadium. Jim was also a Freemason and member of West Gate Lodge #623, achieving the Scottish Rite degrees. He was known for his volunteer work with the Shriners Hospital and his willingness to help anyone in need.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents Stanley and Dorothy, brother Bobby (Martha), wife Elizabeth and daughter Amy. Jim is survived by his brother, David L. (Virginia), sons Gary and Larry (Laurie) Chilcote: son-in-law, Gerald E. Dailey; grandchildren, Sarah (Phillip) Brickner, Kimberly Anne and Ann Marie Dailey: Colleen (Micah) Nungesser, Kyle and Kayla Chilcote: great-grandchildren, Grant and Kara Brickner: Violet and Samson Nungesser. A private family service will be held on Monday, August 26, at Glen Rest Memorial Estate on E Main St. at 10:00 a.m.
