

James C. Cowman, 81, of Blacklick, passed away suddenly, Friday, April 30, 2010 surrounded by his loving family. Jim was born February 23, 1929 in Columbus and attended Grandview High School. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps in the Pacific following World War II then as a Reserve he was called to serve during the Korean Conflict. He became a proud member of “The Chosin Few”. Jim graduated from Franklin University, retired from Claycraft as Vice President, and then was a consultant for Sandusky Builders Supply. Jim attended Mifflin Presbyterian Church. He loved golf, spending time fishing at his vacation home in Michigan and he was fond of dogs and all forms of nature. Preceded in death by his parents, George and Ferne Cowman and 4 brothers. Jim will be missed by his loving wife of nearly 60 years, Patricia; son, Samuel (Jane) Cowman; daughters, Victoria (Greg) Dunfee and Susan (Steve) Youmans; 8 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. Family will receive friends Wednesday, May 5, 2010 from 3pm until the time of memorial services at 5pm at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL 1051 E. Johnstown RD. (at Beecher RD) Gahanna.
