James "Jim" R. DeRoberts

James (Jim) DeRoberts, age 68, entered eternal life on February 1, 2025, with his family by his side. He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard (Dick) and Darlene DeRoberts. He is survived by his wife Shelly DeRoberts, son Andrew (Claire) DeRoberts, daughters Abigail DeRoberts (Natty McAlpine), and Allison DeRoberts (Ryan Goldenstein), and grandchildren John and Rosemary DeRoberts, siblings Nancy Moore (Robert), Jeff, and Amy Spegal (David), and numerous nephews. Jim was beloved far and wide as a husband, father, grandfather, mentor, and friend to many. He graduated from Upper Arlington High School in 1974 and went on to graduate from Miami University in 1978. He started his career beside his father at Dick DeRoberts & Co, which, following a merger, became Gardiner Allen DeRoberts Insurance. Jim was the proud founder of The Arlington Bank. His guidance was valued by many. He served on numerous boards including The Federal Home Loan Bank, Park National Bank, Miami University Foundation Board, and the Upper Arlington Education Foundation. He was a member of the Ohio Bankers League, Community Bankers Association of Ohio, Ducks Unlimited and the Ohio Insurance Agents. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, a friend to all, a mentor and guide to countless. His absence will be deeply and profoundly felt by his family and beyond. The family will host a visitation on Saturday, February 8, 2024, from 1pm to 4pm at Schoedinger Northwest, 1740 Zollinger Rd.
