James Friend

James F. Friend, 84 years of age, of Worthington, Ohio passed away on Saturday, August 7, 2021. He was born in Columbus, Ohio. He is preceded in death by his wife, Elenore "Tookie" Friend; mother, Leone Destefani; son, James "Jimmy" Friend; and grandsons, Kyle Friend and Joey Friend. He is survived by his sons, Jeffrey (Amy) Friend and Joseph (Darla) Friend; stepdaughter, Debbie (Mike Cox) Downes; stepson, Doug Smith; grandchildren, Matthew (Lydia) Friend, Jennifer Friend, Dustin Kribbs, Cassandra Friend, Kyleen Downes, Janelle Daniels, Symphony Bradley and Alec (Samantha) Smith; and eight great-grandchildren. Jim served in the U.S. Marine Corps and went on to work for Sears Roebuck until his retirement in 1992. Jim later worked for Micro Center and Walmart. Jim enjoyed his retirement years fishing and hunting, but his fondest memories were of the summers he and his late wife, Tookie, spent at Burr Oak and Lakeside, Ohio, with their friends, children, and grandchildren.
