

James Richard Hoptry Sr., loving husband, father, Poppy, friend, self-proclaimed chef, and lifelong member, and Grand Supreme Master of "The Brotherhood", died on Monday, November 24, 2014. Born in Columbus, Ohio on January 14, 1941. A 1958 graduate from Columbus South High School, Jim was active in theater, music and sports. Following high school he attended Franklin University. Jim was known for his culinary skills, especially his world famous spaghetti and meatballs.
Jim has been a lifelong fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes, member of the Upper Arlington Athletic Association, a volunteer for Canal Winchester Community Watch, and a member of Ducks Unlimited.
Preceded in death by parents, William and Marjorie. Jim is survived by wife of 53 years, Roberta (Filbin); daughter, Chris Moore (Sam) - sons Seth and Nathan; son, Jim (Linda) - sons Josh, AJ, Nick; daughter, Tricia Honeycutt (Gary) - daughter Lauren; brother, Bob (Norma) and a loving extended family of nieces, nephews and cousins in Texas, Kentucky, Florida, Indiana and the state up north.
