

James Carte, 93, passed away on September 9, 2020. He was born December 8, 1926. In addition to his parents, Arthur and Grace Carte, he was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Carte. Jim is survived by his daughters, Jean (Dan) Miller and Carolyn (Jock) Harris; grandchildren, Brent (Stephanie) Miller, Jenna Miller, Daniel Harris, and Kathryn Harris; special friends, Harry Gate and Midge Osborne.
Jim was born in Nallen, WV. He graduated from Nuttall High School in Lookout, WV, and married his high school sweetheart, Ginny. He attended Marshall University and became an accountant and worked for the states of West Virginia and Ohio as well as private companies. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and past president of the Forest Park Civic Association. In 1973, he was awarded a contract to haul mail for the USPS. Carte Trucking began with two small trucks and progressed to many more contracts and semi-tractor trailers when he retired thirty years later. His quick wit brought smiles to many faces.

To honor his memory, please wear a mask, social distance, and wash your hands. Jim's family will be having a Private Graveside Service at Blendon Central Cemetery where he will be interred.
