To Sue Miller and family,
I recently heard of Jim's passing with great sorrow. He was one of my best friends in high school - fun, always upbeat, in the center of everything and a dedicated leader to our class. I coordinate our class reunions and tried to bring him back to no avail, as you know, but I wasn't going to let him off the hook for our 50th in two years. So sad. 

I spoke to several in our class this weekend and everyone is also shocked and saddened. None of us have a current address or phone number for his family, needed for donations or cards. If possible, would you or another family member contact me at 315-373-0681? (leave message) Our prayers are with you.

I have just learned of Jim's passing and am at a loss for words.  He was one of the most amazing people I have ever known.  My thoughts and prayers are with the entire family at this difficult time.  Mary Dodge Bruck

To the Jim Miller Family:

I learned of Jim's passing only yesterday from my sister, Betsi Marinelli.  Please accept my deepest condolences for Jim's passing.  My brothers and I literally grew up with Jim, Dan and Tom.  We lived across the street from the Miller home.  Jim's mother Peg was a very close friend of my mother Betty.  Jim and I played neighborhood sports together.  Jim was a year behind me at West Genesee.  Jim and I ran on the same cross country team when Jim was a Sophomore and Junior at WG, along with our friends Rick Martin and Jim Reichelt.  After graduation, I left for St. Lawrence in Canton.  Jim started at St. Lawrence the very next year.  He pledged my fraternity, Sigma Pi, and I was his pledge big brother at Sigma Pi.

After graduation, I went into the Army and went to law school and got back to Syracuse only occasionally.  I imagine the last time I saw Jim was at homecoming of Jim's senior year, probably October of 1969.  I moved west after I got out of the Army, where I have lived ever since.  I lost track of Jim.  While my parents were still live, I would occasionally learn news of the Miller family from my Mom.

Jim was a great guy, bright, humorous,  and popular in high school and college.  Our fraternity was very proud when we landed Jim as a pledge and ultimately as a brother.  What a loss for your family, particularly at such a young age.  We will offer a prayer for your family tomorrow at church.
