

James E. Miller, of Columbus, departed this life Saturday, August 1, 2015. He was 74. James grew up in Logansport, Indiana, son of the late Harry and Lena Miller. He was also preceded in death by brother, Merrill E. Miller. James graduated from Indiana University and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He retired as a manager from Whirlpool Corp. (Findlay) where he worked for 30 years. James was a member of Riverside Methodist Church. His focus was always his family and he loved the outdoors throughout his entire life, particularly fishing and camping. He was a man of integrity. His family is grateful for his lessons of kindness, compassion and hard work. In his retirement years, he loved planning and cooking meals, taking care of his lawn, and spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. James was a devoted husband of 53 years to his high school sweetheart, Sharon Miller; loving father to sons, James E. "Chip" (Kathy) Miller II of Fayetteville, Arkansas and J Matthew (Jenny) Miller of Marysville, Ohio; and grandfather of Logan, Jordan, Madeline, J Maxwell, and Olivia Miller. Memorial service will be held Sunday, September 6, 2015 at Riverside Methodist Church, 2701 Zollinger Rd., Columbus, OH, Visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m. and the service at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor David Griebner officiating.
