

Jim and his family moved to Columbus, Ohio in 1976 where he became the Founder/Owner of Dictation Office Products Company (DOPCO) which he ran and operated for 25 years. He has also been a major member of the Columbus community.
Jim joined Columbus Rotary in February 1989. He was an active member during his 26 years. Jim held numerous committee assignments throughout his Rotary involvement, but his passion was always with the Membership Committee and New Member Training Committee. He was honored as the Rotarian of the Year in 2003. Served on the Board Directors from 2007 to 2010. Most recently Jim received the 2013 Rotary Exemplary Service Award for Vocational Service. This award was presented for his creation of a Veteran Mentoring Program at The Ohio State University with the University's Office of Military and Veteran Services. Jim was a Cap Ingalls Associate and a multiple Paul Harris Fellow. He was a Master Judge for the National Corvette Restorers Society (NCRS) which kept him close to one of his passions, Corvettes. Jim was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church where he was an active servant of the Parish.
Most important to Jim was his family. His favorite time of the year was spent at the beach with his grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents, Valentine and Rose Salvino. Jim will be missed by his wife of 52 years, Dawn Salvino; daughters, Chris (Ray) Garcia, Theresa Salvino (Larry Breech), and Jennifer (Kevin) Feeney; son, Mike (Denise) Salvino; grandchildren, Megan Feeney and Matthew, Mitchell, and Morgan Salvino; sister, Geraldine (Mike) Smith; sister-in-laws, Carol Salvino and Sylvia Furlow; and brother-in-law, Ed (Bernie) Ondak.
Family will receive friends Thursday, February 12, 2015 from 4:30-7:30 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 N. High St., Worthington (Just south of I-270). Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, February 13, 2015 at St. Peter Catholic Church, 6899 Smoky Row Rd., Columbus, Fr. Mark S. Summers, Celebrant. Private burial in Resurrection Cemetery.
