

James Michael Schreiner, age 71, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 10, 2025, after a brief illness. Born on September 4, 1954, in Columbus, Ohio, James was the son of James J. Schreiner and Emogene Bolin. He graduated from Central High School and went on to serve his country with honor in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. A dedicated and hardworking man, James spent many years with Martins Painting before retiring from The Ohio State University. He was a passionate sports fan who loved cheering on the Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns, and Cincinnati Reds. Known for his sharp sense of humor and organizational skills, James was deeply devoted to his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, James J. and Emogene Bolin; his brother, Fred; and his beloved wife, Laura Shupe-Schreiner. James is survived by his children: Angie (Jason) Blankenship, Kristi (Drew) Xavier, and Sean (Angie) Schreiner; grandchildren: Dylan, Nate, Kara, Ally, Jet, Allison, Emma, Nathan, Alex, Nick, Jackson, and Nolan; great-grandchildren: Lennon and Aaliyah; sisters: Linda and his twin sister, Jean;brother, Paul; stepmother: Becky Schreiner; and his cherished dog, Elsie. He is also remembered by many other relatives and friends. In accordance with his wishes, there will be no visitation or service at this time.
