James M. Shockey, age 78, of Dublin passed away on Friday, July1, 2011. Jim was born in Columbus on March 24, 1933; he was the son of the late Rufus and Lora Tagg Shockey. Jim was also preceded in death by wives, Jeanne (Walker) Shockey and Donna Shockey. He is survived by his loving children, Jan (Dave) Harvyasi, Robin (Bob) Siekmann, Daniel (Christine Rogers) Shockey and Jim (Dana) Hixson, ; grandchildren, Ryan, Abbey and Aaron Siekmann, Brandon Hixson, Heather Harvyasi and Lilly and Tommy Shockey; and sister Mary Alice (Les) Susi. Jim graduated from Bexley High School and received his B.A. from The Ohio State University where he was active in Kappa Sigma fraternity. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy. He retired from the State of Ohio where he worked for the Highway Department and the Board of Real Estate. Jim was a member of Northwest United Methodist Church. He was also a member of Tri-Village Lions Club and the Masons. He was an avid craftsman with a special interest in woodworking and enjoyed traveling. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 11, 2011 from 6-8pm at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road, Columbus, Ohio 43221.
