James was born on January 2, 1928 in Flat Gap, KY to the late Jeffie R. and Ruth Velvet (Cordail) Stambough. He attended Plain City school system, and after school, he proudly served his country as a Marine during WWII. James returned to Columbus after the war and was a farmer for many years in West Jefferson, OH. and later worked for the Wendy’s Corporation at Easton where he retired from. On January 5, 1984 he married Ms. June R. Emrick, and they celebrated over 26 years together before his passing. As said by his family, He never met a stranger, and would stop and take time to get to know you. He didn’t have much, but what he did have he shared. What brought a smile to his face was that he loved to make children laugh, but what softened his heart was time he spent with his grandchildren. He will be missed by all who were touched by him.
