

Jim was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, veteran, and friend. He is survived by his beloved wife, Diana; his daughter, Krisianna; and his cherished granddaughter, Lilianna. He also leaves behind his treasured four-legged companions, Mango, Mazel, and Magilla.
Jim is further survived by his brother-in-law, Mike; sisters-in-law, Debbie and Suzy; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Sally and Max Trager; his brother, Billy Trager; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Phil and Norma Hooffstetter.
A proud graduate of Eastmoor High School, Jim went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from The Ohio State University. He honorably served his country in the United States Air Force before beginning a long and dedicated career with Meijer, from which he retired.
Jim had a passion for baseball, bowling, and music. He especially enjoyed playing his many guitars and sharing his love of music with those around him.
Jim will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. As he begins his next journey, may he find wonderful adventures and lasting peace.
Family and friends are invited to gather from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at Schoedinger East, 5360 E. Livingston Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43232, where a funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Asbury Cemetery.
