

James Lee Ward, known to all who loved him as Jim, passed away on December 26, 2024, in Marion, Ohio, at the age of 80. Born on May 26, 1944, in Kenton, Ohio, Jim was the son of Harold “Scorchie” Leroy Ward and Ruthanna Ward. Jim was a skilled plastic injection mold maker by trade, a profession he took great pride in. Outside of work, he was a man of simple pleasures, enjoying the pages of a good book, the rhythmic sound of trains, and indulging his ever-present sweet tooth. Above all, Jim was a steadfast and loving family man. He was a devoted father to daughters, Jennifer and Raechel, and a proud grandfather to Josh, Heather, Zach, William, and Seth. He also cherished his role as a great-grandfather to Bennett. Jim’s unwavering loyalty and determination made him an immovable rock for those who knew and loved him. His stubbornness and commitment to his loved ones were part of what made him such a reliable and constant presence in their lives. He is predeceased by his son, James Jackson-Ward. He is also survived by his sister, Barb Hayes, and brother, Tom Ward, both of whom held a special place in his heart.
A memorial service in Jim’s honor will be announced at a later date. In this time of loss, his family takes comfort in knowing that his memory will live on through the lives of those he leaves behind. Jim’s legacy of loyalty, love, and strength will forever be cherished.
