

James I. "Jimmy" Weatherholtz, age 66 of Grove City passed away unexpectedly Monday, March 15, 2021. Jimmy was born in Arlington, VA to the late Ivan and Catherine (Counts) Weatherholtz. He graduated from Iroquois High School in Erie, PA. Jimmy had a long career as a corrections officer; first in the New York State Correctional System and later for the state of Ohio. He was a corrections officer at the Chillicothe Correctional Facility for 25 years. He was well respected by his fellow officers, inmates, and the facility administration. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, trips to Florida but most of all spending time with his family. He loved to make people laugh. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Christine; children Jason Donnell and Jamie (Robert) Wilson; grandchildren Isabella Faith Wilson; Luke Aiden and Raegan Erin Donnell; sister Patricia (Caleb) Elorreaga; mother-in-law Virginia Ednie; sister-in-law Margaret Weatherholtz; and many nieces and nephews. Jimmy's family will receive friends 11-1 PM Monday at Schoedinger Grove City 3920 Broadway. Guests are asked to wear masks and social distance. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic a Private Funeral Service will be held. A public graveside service will follow at 1:30 PM at Union Grove Cemetery 400 Winchester Cemetery RD Canal Winchester, OH 43110.
