She was born on June 29th 1941, in Shelby, Ohio, home of the Whippets, to the late Dean and Mary (Worthington) Viers. In addition to her parents, Janet was proceeded in death by her loving husband, Thomas Ansley and her brother, Gerald Viers.
She was a Post Labor and Delivery Nurse for over 20 years at Riverside Methodist Hospital. She loved taking care of babies and if you were born between 1974 and 1995, she probably swaddled you. After her husband, Tom died, she filled her days with grandchildren whether it be visiting Jason wherever he was stationed with the Navy or helping Jenny with her 4 children. In fact, she continued her caring ways up until the end by supporting fellow residents at the Danbury Senior Living where she lived for the past 5 years. She was incredibly kindhearted and the nurses at the Danbury raved of her kindness and sweetness.
Although quiet and soft-spoken, she lived life to the fullest and ensured her kids did as well. Janet loved all kinds of animals, always rescuing and fostering. She loved to travel, spend weekends in the cottage at Indian Lake, tool around with Tom in the red sports car and spending time with friends. Janet also enjoyed bowling, golfing and gardening (she had an amazing green thumb), but most of all she loved reading. You’d always catch her with a new book and drinking tea. One of her other passions was just being crafty. She loved to quilt, paint, sew, draw, scrapbook and stamping up! We can’t say enough on how wonderful of a wife, mom and grandma she was and will always be in our memory.
Janet will be greatly missed by her children, Jennifer (Chris Odom) Thomas and Jason (Hannah) Ansley. However, Janet’s greatest joy was her seven grandchildren who will miss her dearly; Isabel, Zoe and Lily Ansley; Nicole, Grayson, Ansley (Annie) and Samuel Thomas. She will also be missed by her sister, Penny (Tim) Young and her Sister-In-Law, Elizabeth Viers and many cousins and friends.
A celebration of Life Memorial will be held on December 17th 2021 at Blend of Seven Winery, 1400 Stratford Rd Delaware, Ohio 43015 from 6-9pm. A private family graveside service will be held at Hale Cemetery in Ridgeway, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Janet’s memory may be made to any animal recuse group of your choice.
