Janet Redman Bartels

Janet Redman Bartels, age 86, passed away at OSU Wexner Medical Center on November 15, 2016. She was born on March 3, 1930 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Harry and Lavena (Herboltzheimer) Redman. Janet graduated from North High School in 1947 and attended The Ohio State University where she received a Bachelors and Masters degree in Education. Janet was the last president of the Women's Student Union at OSU. She was a member of the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. She was a teacher in the Columbus school system for 27 years. Janet enjoyed painting, sewing and spending time with her family. Janet was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her loving husband, Dr. Robert Louis Bartels; children Janet R. Bartels, Robin B. Lucas and Robert R. (Janice) Bartels; 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at Covenant Presbyterian Church 2070 Ridgecliff Road Columbus, Ohio 43221, where they will receive friends an hour prior to the service time.
