

A lifelong resident of Reynoldsburg, Janet devoted her life to caring for others. She was a proud registered nurse and graduate of The Ohio State University. Throughout her distinguished career, she served at White Cross Hospital, worked in pediatrics with Dr. John Paul King, contributed to the Public Health Department, and cared for countless children as a school nurse with Columbus Public Schools.
Janet had a deep love for adventure and faith. She was an avid world traveler and especially cherished trips in her camper to Florida with her mother. Her faith was central to her life; she loved the Lord deeply and was rebaptized in the Jordan River, a moment she held especially dear. She and her husband, Ronald, shared a joyful passion for square dancing, creating many treasured memories together.
A devoted member of Reynoldsburg United Methodist Church, Janet was active in her church community and formed lasting friendships through her involvement and service.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Ronald Cochran; and her brothers, James and William Eckelberry.
Janet is survived by her son, Rick (Denise) Cochran; daughter, Anita Key; grandchildren, Jude (Melissa) Rider, Sarah (Justin) Rolston, and Benjamin (Laura) Cochran; step-grandchildren, Marc (Sarah) Bauer, and Lauran Bauer; great-grandchildren, Nayla, Madison, Noah, Leah, Mariah, Ezra, Ava, Colbie, and Garrett, with one more on the way; great great-grandchildren, Genevieve and Phoebe; and brothers, Robert and Carl Eckelberry. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Schoedinger East, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., Columbus, Ohio 43232, where a funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Glen Rest Memorial Estate.
