

Janet Marie (Hrabak) Hagerty, 59, passed away peacefully at Kobacker House hospice center in Columbus, OH, on Saturday, April 21, 2018. She was born May 20, 1958 in Cleveland, OH to the late Carlin and Ruth (Vlnaty) Hrabak. She attended Normandy High School in Parma, OH graduating June 1976. After working for Standard Oil of Ohio, (SOHIO) she relocated to Columbus, OH and to the Ohio State University. Janet enjoyed 20 years working for the OSU Research Foundation retiring in 2004. Faith was always very important to her. Whether in Cleveland or Columbus, Janet found solace and comfort being involved with the fellowship of choirs and other parish organizations and functions. Before being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) in 1988, Janet loved the outdoors, cooking, boating, hiking, needlework, swimming, music, singing, traveling and reading. Though the MS brought many struggles to her day-to-day living, she remained willful, determined and strong, still doing whatever she could do to enjoy life to the fullest. Not only did she live with MS, she supported the MS Society in many ways, including forming walking groups and assisting with MS Walk registrations. She is preceded in death by her husband, Gale B. Hagerty. She is survived by her Brothers, Paul (Bev) Hrabak, Mark (Ursula) Hrabak and Tom (Judy) Hrabak, Brother-in-law, Lloyd (Cheryl) Hagerty, Sister-in-law Beth (Joel) Hagerty-Dyckes, and many dear relatives and friends. A Funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at St. Patrick's Episcopal Church, 7121 Muirfield Drive, Dublin, OH where family will receive friends at 1:30 pm prior to the service. Inurnment will be immediately following the service at St. Patrick's Episcopal Church's Columbarium.
