Janet Lee McDonald

Janet Lee McDonald, age 61, a life-long resident of Columbus, Ohio passed into the loving arms of her Lord on August 31, 2014. She was born October 23, 1952, the only child of the late Roy Edgar and Kathryn Rose (Young) Grigsby. She earned a bachelor of fine arts degree from the Columbus College of Art and Design. Janet worked as a technical artist/proofreader where she developed many treasured friendships throughout her career and most recently was a merchandiser with American Greetings. She was passionate about the traditions and all aspects of Amish living. Janet met her best friend and the love of her life. Timothy J. McDonald, and took his hand in marriage on April 22, 1995. She is also survived by cousins, Elizabeth Emmert of Somerset, Joellen Kendrick of Dresden and Mary Hauser of Dayton; father-in-law Romie McDonald; brother-in-law Gary (Roxann) McDonald; sisters-in-law Pam (Leon) Miller, Terri (Jeff) Babbert and Sherry (Kevin) Duemmel; lifelong friend Karen (Dempsey) Ross-Ohlinger; beloved dog Gracie. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her mother-in-law Delores McDonald and companions: Tigger, Tessie, Tara and Sophie. Family will welcome friends from 2-4 and 6-8pm Thursday, September 4, 2014 at Schoedinger East Chapel, 5360 E. Livingston Ave. Columbus, OH 43232 where services will be held at 12:30pm Friday; interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens; Pastor Claude Davis, officiating.
