Janice Arline Steurer

Janice Arline (Butler) Steurer, beloved daughter, sister, mother, and best friend, age 61, died at home on Tuesday, January 5, 2015. Born December 1, 1954 in Atlanta, GA, she lived in Hilliard, OH and previously Simpsonville, SC. She entered the United State Army in April 1973 and was honorably discharged in July 1975. Jan was dedicated and known for her hard work. She was an avid player of the family card game Crazy Rummy. Survivors include her children Joshua Steurer (Jen) and Elizabeth Hawker (Tommy); her siblings Claudia Geniton (Dan), Carol Parr, Butch Butler (Debora), Ben Butler (Christina), and Bruce Butler (Jan); her grandchildren Taylor Steurer, Paige Steurer, and Coraline Hawker; and her Aunt Sylvia McKenzie. Jan was preceded in death by her parents William and Margaret (McKenzie) Butler. Friends are welcome to join the family for a memorial service celebrating her life being held on Saturday, January 9th from 1-3pm at Brio Tuscan Grille, 1500 Polaris Parkway, Columbus, OH in the Piazza Room. Jan was adamant that she did not want a sad funeral but a party celebrating her life.
