

On Thursday, March 26, 2026, we lost Janice Diane Williams. Born in Utica, New York, on July 12, 1947 to the late Cornelia Byrnette Van Strien Williams and the late John Roger Williams, Jan spent her early years attending Washington Local Schools (now Dublin City Schools), then relocated to Marysville. She was a member of the Marysville High School Class of 1965. She then received degrees from The Ohio State University and the University of Pittsburgh. Her career took her to Tampa, Florida, and Washington, D.C., before she returned to Ohio. Her last position was with the Columbus Metropolitan Library.
Besides her parents, Jan was preceded in death by her cousins Barbara Williams Zoba, Bill Williams, and Cornelia Van Strien Mercolini.
She is survived by her husband Michael Lucas, her cousin Adrian Van Strien, his wife Phyllis, and their family, the families of her deceased cousins, the Mahjong ladies, the Prayers and Square Quilters, the Book Club members, and her good friends Penni and Thom Meyer.

Per Jan’s wishes, there will be no services. Inurnment at a later date at the Allegheny County Memorial Park. Schoedinger Northwest is serving the family.
