Jason E. "Jay" Herb

Jason Eugene Herb, 38, died peacefully at home Thursday, November 13th. He was born January 19, 1976 in Columbus, Ohio. Jason was the most kind, loving person in the world. His love for everyone he knew was boundless. He will be immensely missed by his parents, Mike and Lisa Herb; his brothers Brian (Stacey), Joe (Amanda), Jeffrey (Victoria), and sister Stacey (Bryan); Grandmother Betty Herb, Aunt & Uncle Theresa and Randy Leite; cousins Matthew (Erin), Caitlyn, and John. He so loved children and his nephews and nieces will never forget his love for them: Keerah, Noah, Gabriel, Jacob, Makenzie, Rowan, Michael, Brenna, Julia, and Reagan, and Cousins Silas and Elaina. He is also survived by his mother Shawn (Matt) Hays; step-sister Echo; nephew Bentley; grandmother Brenda Berkheimer; Aunt Michelle (Donnie) Coleman; cousins Chelsea and Jeremy; Aunt Lori Younker, and cousins Nikki Williams, and Kassi Younker. Also, loved by numerous great aunts, uncles, cousins, & dear friends. Preceded in death by Grandfather, Eugene Herb and dear Uncle Tim Younker. Jason loved NASCAR and was known as Crewchief Wheels. He also loved the Buckeyes, Ohio University, and going to camp at Recreation Unlimited where he was recently given The 25 Year Camper and Honorary Counselor For Life awards. He inspired everyone he met with his love of life and people. Jason was always ready for a trip or going out to eat, as long as he wasn’t paying! He was a proud graduate of Independence High School, Class of 1996. Special thanks to Maxim Healthcare Services and Mount Carmel Special Procedures for their wonderful assistance and care.
